The New NICU!!

"The new NICU design also incorporates enhancements to help Children's neonatal staff care for critically ill babies. The private rooms are large enough to accommodate any extra equipment needed for specialized care, which allows neonatologists and nurses to care for the babies without moving them from the room. The NICU has an advanced communication system that allows neonatologists and nurses to monitor babies via cell phones when not in the room. It also features a designated transport room so when needed, Children's can transport infants to and from any location in the five-state region."

Its more to the article but this piece is what realy stck out to me. This piece can realy be useful
for my project and my knowlege because it shows how the NICU changed from back then to now.
Back then The NICU was small, closed in, and only 12 beds.
The New NICU today that opened on December 2, 2009, it expands to 25,00 square foot. It offers
nearly all private patient rooms with expanded secluded family space. NOW THATS AN INNOVATION! !!
To me the NICU came a long way.
