I have also learned that The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation's first children's hospital, has been a center of vaccine research and education for more than 125 years. For example, the rotavirus vaccine, a vaccine that prevents the most common cause of vomiting and diarrhea in children, was developed at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology.Vaccines have reduced and, in some cases, eliminated many diseases that killed or severely disabled people just a few generations before. For most Americans today, vaccines are a routine part of healthcare.

The article explained how Francis West Lewis, MD came up with the idea of opening the nations first Children's hospital. This hospital was opened for children who were sick because most childhood illnesses were treated at home because infants and children admitted to adult hospitals often died due to cross-infection or neglect. This hospital was founded in 1855. This website could be viewed by people who are during research and people who are looking forphysicians, health information, etc.

STUDY ISLAND!!!

Today I explored Study Islad for the first time. It's cool and it will help a lot for my standardized testing. I took the the math pre-test and unfortunatly I've gotten an 40%. Now that Mrs. Thompson told our class that Study Island will be counted in our grade and that its apart of our shool's curriculoum, I'll have to practice more often.
